got access to my latest instagram account circa 2024. all the images there are taken using or rather filtered using the huji app. it still works on my phone, but i've always wanted to figure out how such a filter is done. i also backed a camcorder (yashica journey) and a camera (rewindpix) on kickstarter but i'm not totally sure when those are coming. think that learning to edit pics to my liking (which huji nearly hits really) might be great.
finally started using my charmera. cute thing. i tried to take a video too and it's not bad, though it comes as an .avi file. vlc to the rescue. the pictures are cute. i was thinking the quality is cute too. was thinking of using piclog, so i registered. the way it's compressed into a tiny size just really gives it some charm.
started a bit of learning malay yesterday. planning to go lesson by lesson on this website. awesome. day. planning to go lesson by lesson on this website. awesome.
from hackernews i stumbled upon a few cool websites. so there's this, which is awfully cute; it shows the birds whose calls have been picked up by a mic on the creator's balcony. similarly, crows go hard here too. i suppose a few mynas, pigeons, and spotted doves. a stray koel or too. these little dinosaurs are so neat.
stumbled upon this website, which shows how various daily things work, like pens. it's awesome. what a cool creator, too. back in primary school, kids'd saw off the front end of their g2 pens to make little guns, so you'd use the refill to load it with a paper ball bullet, then press the button to shoot. you could also do this using a different pen type as well that had the front end with the grip in two separate parts, so you didn't need to saw it apart. nowadays kids seem to just bring pre-engineered toy guns, like rubber-band guns made of metal, or reloadable wood revolvers that seem pretty cool.
and dusklight. i still have the wii disc, so maybe i can play twilight princess again sometime. frankly the game was too tough for me when i was a kid, but i loved it nevertheless, or perhaps because of that. rpgs and well, stories in general, definitely have less plot holes at the beginning, when you hardly know anything.
not from hn. remembered about listography! tried a few times but never really stuck to it. fun to browse and see what people are up to, though.
started the republic. here we go. probably worth the price for waterfield's hefty introduction alone.
new words today. or rather i searched up the etymology. germane and german are pretty cool. they're doublets, meaning they come from the same word or origins but have different meanings now. germane's meaning relevant comes from shakespeare. adducing is quite cool, meaning citing. encomium as well.
