cheese wheels on sticks

log

exploring a few news sites and something like reddit alternatives, which is the last social media sort of site use. so far, have liked hn. wish there was something similar for books. but i also think a lot of social media related to books gets tiring to read quickly. or tires me out at least.

also trying out rss feeds again using netnewswire, which seems awesome. trying out 1440, which seems promising so far. currently use kagi's news since i'm on their search engine anyway.

never really occured to me that the printing revolution occured in 1440. i was reading maoyuu recently and it said that there were older forms too, but i suppose chinese really doesn't have a small character set. good luck with that.

speaking of kagi, waiting to see what they're doing with their assistant.

joan of arc died today, in 1431.

never knew there was a job like this, reading books to recommend it (or not) for movie production. dwindling now, perhaps, unfortunately. previously watched a play based on hard-boiled wonderland by murakami. thought it was awesome. i get some things are better for blockbusters and big hits...but yeah, aren't there some books that play in one's mind like a movie? like even in snippets. that could be cool, as an odd film--like amoeba, that was pretty weird.

read adam & eve in paradise today. that was pretty interesting. reminded me of hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy in terms of tone, almost. tad descriptive for my taste but it's funny, and it's brief. would've been nice if it went on for a bit longer, but well, it's nice as is.

from the above. chockablock, meaning packed full to capacity. that's a neat word.
